The Sedation Treatment Process
Step 1: Consultation and Planning
During your initial consultation, Dr. Saad will discuss your dental needs, medical history, and any concerns you may have about dental treatment. She will help you determine which sedation option is best suited for your specific case and provide you with detailed instructions to prepare for your procedure.
Step 2: Treatment Day
On the day of your procedure, you'll arrive at Lalume Dental Studio, where our caring team will ensure your comfort and safety. Depending on the type of sedation chosen, you may receive medication through a nose mask, orally, or through an IV. Throughout your treatment, Dr. Saad and her team will monitor your vital signs and adjust the level of sedation as needed.
Step 3: Recovery and Follow-Up
After your procedure, you'll be given time to rest and recover in our comfortable, serene environment. Depending on the level of sedation, you may need a friend or family member to drive you home. Dr. Saad will provide you with post-treatment instructions and schedule a follow-up visit to ensure your optimal recovery and results.

Choose the Right Sedation Option for You
At LALUME Dental Studio, we understand that some patients may experience anxiety or fear when visiting the dentist. That's why we offer a range of sedation options to help you feel calm and relaxed during your treatment.
Nitrous Oxide
Also known as "laughing gas," nitrous oxide is a mild sedative that is inhaled through a mask during your procedure. It helps you feel relaxed and at ease, and its effects wear off quickly after treatment. You can even drive yourself home after receiving laughing gas!
Oral Conscious Sedation
With oral conscious sedation, you'll take a prescribed sedative medication the night before and an hour prior your appointment. This puts you in a sleepy, dreamlike-state while keeping all your natural reflexes intact. It makes even the longest appointments seem to fly by, and you'll likely remember little of the procedure--a relief for our more anxious patients! If you opt for oral conscious sedation, you will need to arrange for someone to drive you to and from your appointment.
General Anesthesia
For more complex cases or patients with severe dental anxiety, Dr. Saad may recommend general anesthesia. This type of sedation is administered by a board-certified medical anesthesiologist and allows you to be completely unconscious during your treatment.
