FAQs
We're here to answer your questions about emergency dental care.
What qualifies as a dental emergency?
Dental emergencies include severe tooth pain, knocked-out teeth, loose or fractured teeth, significant bleeding from the mouth, swelling in the face or gums, and abscesses. If you're experiencing intense pain or have suffered dental trauma, contact us immediately for guidance and same-day treatment options.
What should I do if my tooth gets knocked out?
If your tooth is knocked out, handle it by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently if dirty, and try to place it back in the socket. If that's not possible, keep the tooth moist in milk or between your cheek and gums. Contact us immediately, as the chance of saving the tooth is highest when treatment occurs within 30-60 minutes.
How can I manage dental pain until my emergency appointment?
For temporary pain relief, rinse with warm salt water, apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek, and take over-the-counter pain medication as directed. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gums, as this can cause tissue damage. If pain persists or worsens, contact us for further guidance.
